Join us for our next Library Speaker Series talk on Friday, December 11, at 2:00. History Professor Emeritus Robert May will talk on “Slavery, the Confederacy and the Roots of Today’s Monuments Debates.” Why did eleven southern states take the drastic step of leaving the Union to create their own nation, leading to a bloody civil war? Why does the removal of Confederate memorials provoke such a polarizing response today?

This will be an online Zoom presentation.
Register with the Pierce County Library.
